Promise delayed is not Promise denied

Genesis  18:10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.  Genesis  18:12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

Praise the Lord!!!

Every morning I bless the Lord because he feeds me with new manna. Today we will meditate on a very important topic, which is a central and most intriguing question in every one's mind.

Should we consider delay in promise as denial in promise?

Lord is a righteous judge and will never allow any test to be very severe that his children cannot bear. When we start our new Christian life, we get promise from the Lord wrapped in his grace. Which always comforts us when we face trials and tribulations.

Here the verse is the central idea of the life of Abraham who was rich, prosperous, righteous, honoured by men and kings. But, he was childless, Sarah took the matter in her own hands and presented Hagar as a wife and Ishmael was born. Still Abraham was unhappy because he knew that the promise was to be delivered from Sarah and she has gone passed the days of child bearing.

Saints when we face trials and think that the promise is very far, and Lord is not to be seen. Dont get toubled and take the matter in your own hands. Because in that you will jeopardise God's plan.

Troubled, as Abraham was; again when Lord reminded him that he will be a father to the son which will be born to Sarah. Abraham laughed and disbelieved in his mind. HOW CAN IT BE POSSIBLE. Sarah was also in the same boat and disbelieved the work of God.

Romans  9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
Romans 9:9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.

When Lord promises anything to his children our duty is to have FAITH. Because without Faith it is impossible to please HIM.

When Abraham took the matter into his hands and listened to his wife and took Hagar as a wife. He acted fleshy  and in turn produced a nation who was against the seed [ Israel ].

When we don't take counsel from God and don't trust his plans we are faced with situations which are detrimental to future generation.

God bless
